Njoftime
Kosovo is a unique “living laboratory” to live, study, and learn. At the crossroads of many of the world’s great cultures, religions, and peoples, it provides an unequaled environment to explore many of the timeless issues of human social existence. Given the war in Kosovo at the end of the 20th century, 21st century challenges associated with violent conflicts, humanitarian disasters, refugees, the responsibility to protect, transforming ex-belligerents, protecting human rights, managing international humanitarian interventions, constructing viable governmental institutions, building sustainable peace, protecting ethnic minorities, establishing equitable norms for transitional justice, enshrining the rule of law, encouraging regional co-operation, and fostering economic development are emergent and continuously evolving interactive phenomena. The “lessons of Kosovo” are never far from daily life.
AUK has assembled a unique blend of world-class scholars, diplomats, retired military personnel, practitioners, former participants in conflict, and government officials to mirror the complexities of initiating, establishing, and maintaining viable and sustainable peace.
Peace is the continuation of war by other means.
